Charleston & Savannah Bachelor Party Guide

Two Southern cities, one epic trip. Charleston's King Street rooftops and Savannah's open-container River Street, two hours apart. Harbor charters, distilleries, golf, ghost tours and bar crawls that run late — where to stay, what to do, what to wear, and how to run a Charleston & Savannah bachelor party the crew actually remembers.

A Charleston & Savannah bachelor party is the smart Southern move: two of the most walkable, hospitality-drenched cities in the country, sitting about two hours apart on I-95. Charleston brings the polished side — Upper King cocktail bars and rooftops, a working harbor for boat charters, distilleries and golf, and that historic-downtown charm. Savannah brings the loose side — River Street's to-go-cup, open-container district, City Market, moss-draped squares and old bars with ghost stories attached. Fly into Charleston (CHS) or Savannah (SAV), or split the difference and drive between them. The format works for crews of 6 to 20: golf or a harbor charter by day, King Street or River Street by night. This guide covers where to base, the proven activities, what to wear in the Lowcountry heat, and the mistakes that trip up a first-timer.

Sort the Groom First

Charleston and Savannah are packed with bachelor and bachelorette crews every weekend — the groom needs to be spotted in any photo and found at last call. Same tee design as the crew, "Groom" + name on the back, a different color to the rest so he stands out in a lineup of matching tees.

👑

Groom Personalized Tee

"Groom" + name on the back. White or navy base for the groom; crew in gray or black. Lightweight cotton for the Lowcountry heat, wears Friday to Sunday.

The Charleston & Savannah
Bachelor Zones

Split your nights across four legendary districts — two in each city. Base downtown in either and everything is walkable or a short rideshare. Here's where a Charleston & Savannah bachelor party actually goes down.

🥤

Savannah: River Street

Savannah's cobblestone riverfront, and the reason the city is a bachelor magnet — the Historic District allows open containers, so you can grab a to-go cup and roam bar to bar along the Savannah River. Old brick pubs, live music and a walkable strip right on the water.

Savannah: City Market & the Squares

Just up from the river — City Market's courtyard of bars and restaurants, plus the oak-lined squares for a daytime stroll or a ghost tour after dark. The spot for the sit-down dinner, live music, and a slightly calmer start before River Street gets loud.

Proven Charleston & Savannah
Bachelor Activities

A strong Lowcountry bachelor party stacks a daytime on the water or the golf course with a big night on King Street or River Street. Book the popular ones early — spring and fall weekends sell out.

⛵ Harbor Boat Charter

Charter a boat out of Charleston Harbor or the Savannah River for a few hours with a cooler and a captain — sandbar stops, dolphin sightings and skyline views. The signature Lowcountry bachelor daytime. Charter the whole boat for the crew and book ahead.

⛳ Golf

Both cities are golf country. Play a round at one of the public or resort courses around Charleston or Savannah, or take the short hop toward Hilton Head. A morning tee time is the perfect low-key day between two heavy nights.

🥃 Distillery & Brewery Tour

Charleston has a real craft-spirits and brewing scene — distillery tastings and brewery crawls run all week. Book a group tasting or a guided crawl, get the crew a base buzz, then roll into Upper King for the night.

🌆 Upper King Rooftop Crawl

Charleston's skyline is best from a rooftop. Hit a couple of the downtown rooftop bars around Upper King for sunset cocktails and city views before dinner. Reserve tables for bigger crews — the good rooftops fill up.

🥤 River Street To-Go-Cup Crawl

Savannah's open-container law makes River Street a walkable bar crawl on the water — grab a to-go cup, roam the brick pubs, catch live music. The classic Savannah bachelor night: cheap, loud, and no reservation required.

👻 Savannah Ghost Tour

Savannah calls itself one of America's most haunted cities and leans all the way in. A pub-and-ghost walking tour through the squares is a genuinely fun, slightly ridiculous crew activity — history, a few drinks and jump scares. Book a group slot.

🍤 Southern Food Run

Lowcountry boil, shrimp and grits, oysters and barbecue — the food is half the trip. Line up a group dinner reservation in Charleston or at City Market in Savannah, or do a food-tour crawl through the historic district by day.

🎣 Inshore Fishing Charter

For the crew that wants off the beer for a morning — book an inshore fishing charter through the Lowcountry marshes and creeks out of either city. Half-day trips suit a bachelor group; the photos and the fish stories are worth it.

Charleston & Savannah Bachelor Party FAQs

Should we base a Charleston & Savannah bachelor party in one city or split it?

Both work. If you have three nights, split it — two nights in one city, one in the other, with the ~2-hour drive down I-95 in between. If you only have a weekend, pick one as your base: Charleston for the polished rooftop-and-harbor trip, Savannah for the loose, open-container River Street trip. Many crews fly into one and out of the other.

Which airport should we fly into?

Charleston International (CHS) and Savannah/Hilton Head International (SAV) both work, and they're about two hours apart. Fly into whichever is cheaper or matches your first stop — or fly into one and out of the other so you never backtrack. A rental car or a driver covers the drive between them.

Can you really drink on the street in Savannah?

Yes — Savannah's Historic District allows open containers up to 16 oz in a to-go cup, which is why River Street is such a bachelor draw. Grab a cup, walk bar to bar along the river. Charleston does not have open-container, so keep the drinks inside there.

What's the best daytime activity?

A harbor or river boat charter for pure crew energy; a morning golf round for the low-key groups; a distillery or brewery crawl in Charleston if the weather turns. In Savannah, a pub-and-ghost tour through the squares is the fun, only-here option. Book any of them ahead on peak weekends.

When is the best time to go?

Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are ideal — warm, walkable and less brutal than the Lowcountry summer. Summer is hot and humid but cheapest for lodging; those are the months to lock in the harbor charter and pool time. Book lodging early for peak weekends.

How early should we order the crew tees?

2 weeks before you travel, ideally 3 — every tee is made to order. Last-minute is usually possible; message us before you pay and we'll confirm the turnaround so the groom and crew tees land before you fly.
